Pakistan People’s Party responds to allegations on absence of Quaid’s photos + Citizen’s Reply

The heavy controversy surrounding the Pakistan People’s Party’s alleged removal of the Quaid-e-Azam’s pictures from the President’s House has proved to be a large blow to the PPP’s falling reputation.

In response to the allegations,  mentioned by DiscoMaulvi in this post, Farhatullah Babar, the Spokesperson for the President House has tried to justify the reason(s) behind the absence of the Quaid in the photo in the following letter to The News’.

The News' 2nd July 2009: Letters to the Editor

Mr. Babar states that the allegations “are nothing but lies and slander” and that according to standard protocol Quaid-e-Azam’s photos are hanged at “all significant places” inside the Aiwan-e-Sadr. He goes on to mention the places in which these photos are hanged and names the people who made the allegations as “Bhutto-haters who are frustrated over their striding national political scene”.

I personally feel that Farhatullah Babar has not fully justified the reason behind the very existence of the fact that there was no Quaid-e-Azam in the photo taken inside the Presidency with the national cricket team.

EDIT: In today’s The News’ Letters to the Editor section, two citizens replied to Farhatullah’s letter. The basic gist of the letter(1) was: Why is Bilawal’s photo, who has not served the country in any shape or form, hanged inside the room.

And of course, the basic message of letter(2) was: “If Quaid-e-Azam’s photos are hanged in all significant places, was the area where the photo of the team was taken a ‘less significant’ place?

  • We cannot see the picture behind the large door – although it is true that Quaid’s picture are hanged everywhere [almost every prominent place]. My mother confirmed me since she visited Aiwan-e-Sadar many times in past 16 months. I will ask her to take the pictures next time. But at the moment, Farhat Ullah Babar should have posted a photograph along with the official press release for media and rest of the nation.

  • I understand the photo is prominently displayed at all places in the Presidency and ofcourse the purpose of the post was not that it is removed from all places but rather that particular place.

Farhatullah Babar says photos of other heads of state are still present but does that justify the photo of BB (a former PM) and Bilawal (a political nobody) in the “President’s House”?

I love how “former dictators” are referred to as still being there… :p

It is funny that greatness of the Bhuttos is mentioned here and how Bhuttos are striding over the national political scene. LOL! I hate to tell you but adding Bhutto as your name does not make you a Bhutto. The real Bhuttos right now would be Murtaza and Shahnawaz’s children or even Sanam Bhutto. And they are no longer on the political scene.

  • You have hit the nail on the head; who planned the photograph with the national World champions???

  • kya baat hae babu jee….venever i visit ur website – i am forced to think, twitter, shiver and leave with gr8/pleasant impresssion. Babu jee bara ho gaya hae…………..

  • There is no need to cry over spilt milk now. It has been embarrassing for the Government and an apology is the need not DIPLOMATIC explanations.

  • I certainly believe that feudal lords ie the Bhutto’s owe an apology to the Citizen of Pakistan for their egotistic values. And this Mr Babar is playing a typical chamcha ( Spoon)..he needs to address the public in a manor that is plain, simple and factual.

  • Let us Not please Degrade Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto as a leader while we try to bring justice to our Quaid missing in that picture.

Lets not Fuel hate ! lets keep it all simple. they made a big mistake they should apologise.
